Ewa Paprotna

Ewa Paprotna

Ewa Paprotna is a concert opera singer (soprano, lyric coloratura) originally from Poland and has lived in Vienna for many years. Her vocal talent was discovered by Prof. Franciszek Kosch in the choir in Jelenia Góra (Poland), and she studied at the local Conservatory of Music under Prof. Ewa Barbara Werner. She is an exceptional and unconventional artist who masters both the classical repertoire and popular music.
At the age of 23, she was forced to give up classical singing due to severe vocal cord inflammation and strain. However, she remained loyal to the music industry and retrained from opera to pop. Polskie Nagrania MUZA released her two pop music albums, "How to be an Angel" and "Christmas Time."
At the age of 43, however, she decided to return to classical singing, despite a 20-year hiatus. Preparations for her return to the classical stage took several years. Her singing teachers in Vienna included Prof. Eva Linquist, Prof. Helena Łazarska, Kati Tavardi, and Claudia Camie. Since 2018, she has been a recognized freelance artist in Austria, specializing in concert opera singing.

Not only quality and professionalism, but also the interpretation and improvisation that emerge from the feeling of the moment through direct, lively contact with the audience, make her performance a kind of magic that moves the listener's emotions and imagination and resonates in their hearts. Her interpretation of the arias, lieder, and songs demonstrates her astonishing creativity, while the sound of her voice maintains its authenticity, professionalism, and charm—just like herself.
